People receive an average of 90 smartphone notifications per day, many of which they never asked for in the first place, and some of which interrupt and distract. People of low socioeconomic status may be particularly vulnerable to these distractions if they have lower technical skills for managing notifications. I’m researching settings and systems that can help people manage smartphone interruptions.
